At Paihia School Te Maunga and Te Moana were going on a camping trip to coopers beach. We had to make a DLO to explain what we did so here is mine (I made a book Creator).

Ghost ( unabridged )

In Te Maunga we were listening to this book called "Ghost" Whaea becks told us that we had to write an idea of what would happen in the next book because the book ended with a cliffhanger! ( a cliffhanger is where a story ends with one word like BOOM... ) Here is my writing

Boom!!! I zoomed off like a “LIGHTNING BOLT!!”I was so distracted in winning that I didn’t realize that I was ahead of everyone! I could here my Mum yelling, “Come on ghost & you can do this!!” And I COULD do this!!”
I could see my Aunt Sophey nearly screaming her head off!! “COME ON CASTLE GO GO GO!!!!!!” And my cousin king holding up a sign that said “Castle Cranshaw ain’t no JOKE” But the only person I couldn’t see was Coach. I searched everywhere around me but no luck then everything started to go downhill! I started to fall back behind everyone and slow down and then it hit me, I was running and then I tripped over a rock, A ROCK!!Then the race finished and i came in second, so not bad for someone who lives on Glass Manor, Then something surprised me Brandon the first place winner gave me his GOLD medal!! ( Witch I nearly had a heart attack from )And it was then that it happened, Brandon yelled THIS BOY STOLE MY MEDAL, but everyone knew he was lying because they knew he gave it to me so i just rolled my eyes and threw the medal on the ground, because who needs a silly old medal? After a ruff day I finally found coach in his cab looking at a photo, ( the photo that I found in the boot when I was cleaning his cab ) and he was crying, Ghost, do you ever miss your father? He sobbed. “Sometimes,” I replied. Well I do, he whispered and maybe I could sometimes visit his grave and you could come with me. And that’s when I bolted, I didn’t wanna go to some persons grave I don’t really even know, do you? Well i just ran until my legs couldn’t run no more. I finally got to Mr Charles store and got some seeds and waited...

Waited is the last word for mine and it is a cliffhanger!!

My learning goals

Description: In Te Maunga we have been learning to make learning goals and personal goals. We had to make a sheet of paper that had all of our goals on it. Each time we achieve a goal we have to get a sticky note and stick it on top of the other one. If we have achieved it correctly Whaea becks will give us some XP points on classcraft, classcraft is a game that you create a character and then choose a role. There are mages, healers and warriors and it’s practically like a behavior game. I haven't achieved any of my goals yet but i know i will soon. My personal goal is to start straight away, i’ve been trying hard to just get into it because i keep getting distracted. It’s a little hard but i’ll get there.

Matariki writing

In Te Maunga we have been doing writing about last week. we got to choose if we wanted to do matariki day or our trip to the waitangi treaty grounds. I chose to do matariki day. I think I did a very good job and I got some help from my friend Ataahua. Here it is. ⬇

One beautiful morning i woke up feeling more excited then a man who just won the lottery.   Yippeeee!!!  TODAY WAS MATARIKI DAY!!!! I zoomed out of my room and into the Kitchen to make my breakfast.

After that i raced to the car We drove to school. We had an assembly miss simonds told us that the caught being goods would be different today. She said that bridget had an idea and that they would put all the caught being goods in a box and pull out 7 instead of 1.

Then after morning tea was finished we did some activities. The first activity we did was when you have a poi and you have to try and throw it to someone else. Then we did planting. I planted three trees.. After a few minutes of planting the bell rang, Ring Ring Ring. It howled. I was so excited because…  

IT WAS TIME FOR THE FEAST!!!! I ran into the classroom grabbed my chocolate crunch and sped over to the tables to put it on the sweet side. After all the food was put on the table everyone said karakia and then it was time for the best part. THE EATING. We went around a few times and then we let the adults eat. When we finished eating it was time to play. At lunch, i got to see if my plants were okay. Today was the best day ever The end

writing goal sheet

In class we have been doing a writing goal sheet⬇ we have done, Spelling, Punctuatoin, Sentence structure, Vocabulary, Idea, Organisatoin. This is what it looks like

		I use capital letters and full stops in some sentences and try to use other punctuation.	I am beginning to write sentences of different lengths-simple, compound and complex sentences	I  can write a lot of simple words and some extra words to add detail. Noun / verbs / adjectives	I have many simple ideas on the topic and starting to use detail.		I put my ideas in order or groups and am attempting paragraphs. I use clear pronouns.
How do I know? Give some examples from your writing of why you think you are in that box	I spell most essential list words correctly and attempt some difficult words using spelling rules. Astonished explained	Because i can use punctuation most of the time like... Fullstops Capital letters	I use simple and compound but am beginning to make it make sense.	Because i can use lots of my words i use when i’m talking And and i am beginning the reader detail. Like astonished soggy	Because I have added ideas for my writing		I am starting to put more detail in my writing.
What next? What are your next learning steps?	I need to practice more of my spelling at home	I need to use capital letters on names and commas and speech marks. In class we have done a get NZ writing poster. we sent our one down to wellington school and the kids from the class we sent ours to sent theirs to us.

When we got theirs we only just found out that they were year threes. the one here is ours.

celebrations ( Of world toilet day )

At Paihia school We have been learning about Celebrations. me and my two friends did won on a real funny celebration from denmark. WORLD TOILET DAY!!!!  When we heard it we just started to laugh & laugh & laugh, it was so funny. We made a presentation for it. here it is ⬇

Koru panels

At Paihia school we have been learning about Koru art. everyone had to make a koru panel ( witch is a picture ) to represent there Family. I made mine and took a picture. After that we had to make a google drawing on who & what They are. Here is mine ⬇ ( the piture in the middle is my art )

on week 5 Te Maunga were writing are own made up storys. mine was about this boy named max Techno Freak. here is my story;

The Temple of Babylon

Once upon a time there was a boy called Max Techno Freak. He was a pro skateboarder. Every night he would sneak out to a secret skatepark in the bush. He had a secret skateboarding course. He would go there every time he went and practise on it. Every year there is a competition to see who is the best skater, they will be vowed king of the skater bros. The skater bros are a pro skater team. They only take the people who win the race. But if there is a tie  they make the people do, paper, scissors, rock. The loser will be in total shame forever. He could not lose again.

One day he was walking through the bush when he saw something golden and bright. He walked closer to it. When he got there he could not believe his eyes. It was made out of SOLID GOLD. He had to investigate.. He cut down thru the bushes with a machete he found on the ground. He tripped over a small little rock. There was no door at the building, (or so he thought)

He fell straight through the wall to a place filled with thousand dollar paintings, jewellery, balloons and sacks and sacks of money. He heard laughing and talking coming from a small room. He tiptoed over as if he was escaping from jail. He had to get through lasers, anvils, cannons and a man eating shark tank. When he got closer he could hear the sound of talking he stayed silent, he could not hear it very well but this is what he could hear. I can’t wait until we get to invade the white house. Said the person. Oh my god. Said max i think it’s those crooks that were on the news letter. Just then he heard one of the guys picking up a baseball bat. He ran for the door, thru the forest and straight back home.

He told his mum all about his adventure. His mum was so confused. She ran straight to the phone and rang the police. She brang them over to where he found it and they could not believe their eyes. It was a GOLDEN TEMPLE. They called in for reinforcements. when the S.W.A.T team got there they just opened there mouths and fell over. After they gained contents they sped inside. They found where the crooks were hiding and captured them. They took them to the police station and put them in a cell made out of Titanium. After that the police gave max his very own phone for helping them catch the crooks. After that they all lived a happy life. The End

Manaakitanga respect

In class we have been learning about our four hoe. They are Manaakitanga-respect, Tu Maia-resilience, Whanaungatanga-helping each other and kaha-being strong. My friend Kingston and i did manakitanga-respect, I think we did very well on it and we even made a screencastify of it.

kaha means not using real strength but using words.

Respect means not being rude when someone is talking.

Resilience means you should never give up.
