Concluding the Journey (Summer Learning Journey)

I learnt from the Summer Learning Journey experience is that if you cannot figure something out, ask someone or use google.

I was surprised by how much fun this was and it was really cool doing all of this.

I was really concerned with how many animals are dying and why they are dying.

I think that moving forward to save the environment we can stop buying junk food and only buy things that can either be recycled of composted.

I am really sad that the Summer Learning Journey has ended and I am definitely doing it next year!

  1. Mōrena Jack,

Congratulations! You have finished the entire 60 activities from the Summer Learning Journey. What an incredible accomplishment that I hope you are super proud of yourself for.

I'm so happy to read that you have enjoyed the programme and will be doing it next year. We love feedback and it's great to know you used your initiative when you were stuck on an activity, ka pai.

Buying things that can either be recycled or composted is a great step in the right direction Jack. Whenever I go to the supermarket I always make sure I get loose fruit and vegetables rather than bagged to save on the unneeded plastic. Another way to help the environment is to grow your own vegetables! Dad has a great garden which is currently blooming with tomatoes. Do you grow any of your own produce at home?

Well done on such a great journey this summer. The Kaikohekohe commenting team have loved reading and commenting on your work and have been so impressed with your creativity and commitment throughout the summer.

Looking forward to visiting you and your school in February!
    Nga mihi, Georgia.

  5. Hello Jack,
I am Vitaraag. Congrats on completing the summer learning journey. I really hope you had a fun time. I am really looking forward to reading some of your future blog posts. My favourite answer from you was the one that you were concerned about animals dying. Maybe next time you can elaborate in your answers. Keep up the amazing work!
