Code.org

Kia Ora Bloggers! In Te Ngahere we have been doing some coding on Code.org.
We used the artist game and created some really spectacular  artworks. I think I
did well when finding the right directions & angles for them. I think next time
instead of just making creations in the shape of a circle I could try & make different
shapes. Here is an example, First I needed to get a movement tool and then put in
how many pixels I wanted, like this.

Here are some of mine

During coding you need to put in how many pixels you want to move and then how
many degrees you want to turn, you can also add stickers and decorate the design
and colour of the artwork, if you don’t want to put in too much code you just need
to use a repeat tool and put in how many times you want it repeated

New New Zealanders

Kia Ora Bloggers! In Te Ngahere this week we have been creating an animation
about a story we read. Breeze and I did New New Zealanders. It is about this
family of refugees from Syria traveling to New Zealand because of a war that
was happening in Syria. Here is our animation.

I think we did really well when we were making our script for our animation.
This is what the script had to look like.

After we did our script we had to get it checked by the teacher and then create
a storyboard. The storyboard had to have each part of the Animation from your
script in pictures and then showing it the way you want it to. Here is an example
of a good storyboard.

Here is our Brief.

CREATE BRIEF

  • Choose a person or a group of people from the stories/articles/videos.
  • Create an animation or video about their journey.
YOUR ANIMATION / VIDEO MUST:

Show the journey your person / group took to get to New Zealand. (no dialogue/talking)

Make sure to include some dialogue (talking) that explains why they are moving and how
they feel about it.
(Are they nervous, excited, worried?)

Show what happened when they arrived in New Zealand (Were they happy?
Did people that were already here accept them?  Was there tension? Did things go
the way they thought it would?)
Show another group or person’s point of view about their arrival. (How did
people already living here feel about their arrival?)
Explain any tensions that their arrival created.

Bay Bush Action

Kia Ora Bloggers!! In Te Ngahere we have been learning about Bay Bush Action. A lady named Stella came in to talk to us about what Bay Bush Action is and what they do. She taught us that we need to do something about our environment before it is to late! After she talked to us we had to create a dlo about it. Here is the comic I made.

What I think I did well was showing what my comic was about and what we could do for the kiwi.
Maybe next time I could start off with the comic instead of an animation.
