Air Pollution (Summer Learning Journey)

Air Pollution

There are lots of different kinds of pollutants, Here are 3 of them.

1: Greenhouse Gasses
2: Smog
3: Toxic Pollutants

Greenhouse Gasses are when you burn Fossil Fuels (things like coal) which then are burnt down and the fumes are released into the air which creates the Greenhouse Gasses.

Smog can be deadly to plants and annoys your eyes. It can be man-made or comes naturally from the environment around us.

  1. Kia ora Jack,

These are some really interesting facts that you have found from the video. I didn’t know that 90% of people breathed polluted air, I think that is so upsetting. What do you think about this?
This is why it is so important to look after our environment!
Thank you for teaching me about Greenhouse gasses, I didn’t know that they are Fossil fuels which are burnt down.

Can you think of any ideas of how we can look after the air? One idea that I found, is to conserve energy (remember to turn lights off, computers and electric appliances. Let me know if you find any more interesting ideas from this website https://www.des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/air/tsb/ams/aqmdp/share.htm

Looking forward to hearing your ideas Jack :)

    Blog you later!
