Plastic Bags (Summer Learning Journey)

Plastic Bags

My mum agrees that it is a good thing that countdown have gotten rid of plastic bags but disagrees that they have replaced them with reusable plastic bags because they are still creating plastic pollution. She thinks that the next step should be that they get rid of the plastic wrapping on all food items as this is such an unnecessary use of plastic.

Yes it is a good idea of introducing the ban to reduce our plastic, as it is hurting our animals and sea life.
I also agree with your mum, I think it is silly bringing in a reusable plastic bag as people will often buy these and still not reuse them, which means we still have a plastic problem! I think that is also a huge issue, the plastic that is wrapped around vegetables especially ‘to keep them fresh’. This should be eliminated from supermarkets.
I am really proud that you think it’s a great idea to ban/reduce plastic as you are wanting to save the environment!

Can you think of any ways you can reduce your plastic use?

    Blog you later!

  2. Kia Ora Georgia E. Thankyou for commenting on my post,
I think we can reduce plastic by not buying too much plastic and if you are getting chips in your lunch get the big bags and just put the chips in a reusable container.

  3. Hello Jack,
I am Vitaraag. I also have to agree with you. Reusable bags are still polluting the environment. But also stopping plastic bags is a huge thing that I think will and should happen one day. Do you get those reusable bags? I don't. Maybe next time you can say how the reusable bags are polluting the environment so people who think you are wrong will change there mind. Do you think that the world should stop using plastic bags? Keep up the amazing work!
