The Seven Sisters of Matariki
This story is about the creation of the Seven Sisters of Matariki. The story starts off with a man named Mitai and his 7 brothers. The seven brothers fell in love with the seven sisters while Mitai warned them not to because he said they were not of their kind. Mitai's brothers were so in love with the seven sisters that they no longer ate and they only went out to get seafood for their wives. The seven sisters used to live on the island that the Mitai and his brothers lived on and they were known back then as fairy's. The girls were going to starve Mitai's brothers to death so Mitai went back to warn his brothers. The brothers were given each a magic net as to catch their wives and capture them so they would not have to deal with them anymore. Mitai took the seven sisters to the heavens to get rid of them but just like Mitai's brothers, Uru (the god of the stars) started to fall in love with the women so he took them to a far away place and every once a year he lets them free so they can shine their light. This is the story of the The Seven Sisters of Matariki.

It was a very interesting part when the wives were going to starve Mitai’s brothers to death, I did not see this coming! My favourite part was when Mitai turned into a bird to listen to the wives plans to kill the brothers by letting them fade away. Did you like this book?
