Be Sunsmart (Summer Learning Journey)

Be Sunsmart

1. Slip on a shirt, Slip on a shirt with long sleeves because it protects you better then just sunblock.

2. Slip into the shade, take an umbrella if you are going to the beach for shade if it gets too hot.

3. Slop on sunblock, slop on as much sunscreen as you need to cover your entire body.

4. Slap on a hat, wear a hat that has the flaps to cover your entire head.

5. Wrap on sunglasses, put on sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun.

  1. Kia ora Jack,

Great job in listing 5 ways to be sun smart. I enjoyed the detail you put into each tip and that you incorporated the slip, slop, slap and wrap saying into the activity! I think wearing a hat is super important when out in the sun as your scalp can be so susceptible to burning and if you do get a burnt scalp, it will peel and look like you have big pieces of dandruff all through your hair.

What is your favourite thing to do in the summertime? I absolutely love swimming in the ocean. It has to be one of my favourite things ever! Last year I was lucky enough to escape the NZ winter for 2 weeks and headed to Bali for a holiday. It was so hot and tropical, the water was always so warm!

Keep up the fantastic work Jack, I am really enjoying reading your work and leaving you comments!

    Nga mihi,
    Georgia.
